This tiny newborn is in an isolette because he was born premature. An isolette is a special incubator that provides premature babies with controlled temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels. The two circles in front of the glass box serve as 'armholes' used to reach the baby with minimum disturbance to the controlled environment.
