This is my brother, Marc, during an infusion of stem cells. This is part of a stem cell transplant procedure he received at UCLA for lymphoma. He already received high dose chemotherapy and total body irradiation over the past 10 days. He is being treated for Hodgkin's Lymphoma (also known as Hodgkin's disease).

The stem cells are his own, harvested before he was admitted to the hospital. He will receive 10 bags of a pink slurry by IV. The one he's getting now is visible in the upper-right corner of the picture.

He is having his temperature taken every few minutes, as a precaution against an adverse reaction to the preservative used with the stem cells.
